LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Muhammad Ali, as captured by world-renowned artist LeRoy Neiman will grace the cover of the Louisville edition of The Real Yellow Pages for 2006-07. The artwork on the cover is part of the inaugural year poster for the new Muhammad Ali Center -- an international education and cultural center founded by Muhammad Ali located in the heart of downtown Louisville. In addition, BellSouth is a new sponsor of the Ali Center's Dedication exhibit.

"Having such an historic picture of one of the greatest athletes in American history on our cover of our Louisville directory is a true honor for the entire BellSouth family. Mr. Neiman's work captures the best of Muhammad Ali, and brings one of the world's most famous individuals to all of the homes and businesses throughout the Louisville area. We are certain the cover and information located inside our directory will help bring even more attention to the city's new downtown attraction, the Muhammad Ali Center," said Ellen Jones, Regional Director for BellSouth in the Louisville metro area.

Directory distribution begins September 12 and will continue for approximately four weeks, with new residents and businesses receiving directories throughout 2006 and 2007.

"Muhammad Ali is not just an athlete that I respect, but someone I am proud to call a friend. The Ali Center is such an important institution to everyone and I am happy to lend my work to the BellSouth directory to bring more attention to the wonderful work housed in the Ali Center," said LeRoy Neiman.

"Muhammad Ali's image has been featured on the cover of countless magazines over many decades, but never The Real Yellow Pages," said Mike Fox, president and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center. "We are thankful to LeRoy Neiman for his artistic genius and his continued friendship to the Ali Center. We are especially grateful for our association with BellSouth -- a proud sponsor of our 'Building Strength and Endurance' exhibit within our Dedication pavilion -- a company whose own strength and endurance has proven itself over and over through the years, not unlike the Center's founder, Muhammad Ali."

The front section of The Real Yellow Pages includes the award-winning Community Information Pages with special sections devoted to information on schools, government offices, area museums and attractions, sporting events, weather and emergency planning, as well as other important local information.

In addition to the standard size and companion directories, The Real Yellow and The Real White Pages Louisville edition is available on CD-ROM and on the Internet at http://www.yellowpages.com/.

"Just as consumers' preference for how they locate local business information has changed, so has BellSouth's tools for finding information. From our print directory, to cd-rom to the Internet, consumers have a choice of how they 'let their fingers do the walking' when searching The Real Yellow Pages," said Jones.

Area residents and businesses are reminded to recycle their old telephone directories as new books arrive. Louisville metro residents can place their old phone books in their orange curbside recycling bins, and area businesses with larger quantities can bring them to local recycling centers. For more information, Jefferson County residents and businesses can call MetroCall service at 574-5000. Oldham County residents and businesses can take old directories to the Oldham County Recycle Center, 3943 Jones Drive in LaGrange. The center's hours of operation are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. After hours and on weekends, outside bins also are available for drop-offs.
