Power-One Demonstrating Z-One Digital IBA Power Solution at Supercomm 2004
Posted on: Thursday, 17 June 2004, 06:00 CDT
Power-One, Inc. (Nasdaq: PWER) announced today that they will be performing the first public demonstration of their advanced Z-One(TM) digital intermediate bus architecture at Supercomm 2004. Due to the intellectual-property-rich content of this digitally integrated power conversion and management architecture, previous demonstrations were limited to selected customers under the terms of non-disclosure agreements.
Visitors will be able to configure, and run simulations of, complete power systems using the ZIOS(TM) Graphical User Interface (GUI). This advanced GUI works with the Z-Series Digital Power Manager (DPM) to control up to 32 programmable Z-POL(TM) (Point-Of-Load) converters, without having to physically adjust or replace any power-system components. This 90% reduction in power system development time is accompanied by a 90% reduction in components and trace count. In addition, power-system costs can be reduced from 20% - 50%, depending on system configuration.
Supercomm 2004 will be held in Chicago from June 22nd to 24th. In addition to the advanced Z-Series, Power-One will be displaying a complete range of communications-focused dc-dc converters, ac-dc power supplies, and telecom energy solutions at booth 13831.
