Peter Horton's new two-year deal with Hollywood's Touchstone TV will have the director producing ABC's Grey's Anatomy and a new series pilot.
The deal will allow Horton to continue his role as executive producer on the hit medical series, while also offering him production credits on Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes' newest pilot for Touchstone TV and ABC, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The 53-year-old TV executive is best known as a cast member on thirtysomething, the '80s drama in which he played college teacher Gary Shepherd.
Horton, who also worked on the TV series Once and Again and The Wonder Years, has also signed on as a consultant to the new TV drama, Six Degrees, which will also be released by ABC and Touchstone TV.
