SAN DIEGO and BOXBOROUGH, Mass., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Websense, Inc. , a global leader in web security and web filtering productivity software, and Crossbeam Systems(R), Inc., a leader in unified threat management (UTM), today launched the WebBlazer(TM) Web Threat Management System. The WebBlazer Web Threat Management System offers organizations a comprehensive security solution that defends against internet attacks while offering accelerated web content and caching delivery, enterprise class web security, and simplified administration through Crossbeam's C25 UTM platform.
WebBlazer features Websense(R) Content Gateway(TM) (WCG) web proxy and cache technology, to provide an additional layer of web content control and visibility along with improving web responsiveness and reducing network gateway workload. This integrated solution combines industry leading web security and filtering with proven proxy technology on a secure and flexible UTM platform from Crossbeam.
Augmented with either Websense Enterprise(R) or Websense Web Security Suite(TM), the WCG is a high-performance, enterprise-class web proxy and caching technology that helps improve the overall web experience and accelerates the delivery of web-based content -- increasing network performance while decreasing bandwidth consumption. In addition, the WCG provides a single point of authentication and enforcement of end-users resulting in easier, more manageable deployment of web security. Concurrently, WCG enables deep content inspection and enforcement for current and future web-based threats.
Crossbeam UTM platforms deliver flexible, high scaling network security in perimeter, core and data center architectures. These platforms allow the seamless addition of key security applications into each customer's network to solve their respective security issues and challenges while meeting their particular network deployment needs. In addition to this seamless solution and network deployment, the platforms add unique security and performance enhancements that make them ideal for creating combined solutions such as the WebBlazer offering. Carriers use the Crossbeam UTM platforms to deliver a new generation of virtualized services such as firewall, VPN and intrusion prevention, while enterprises embrace UTM to consolidate security equipment and establish a faster response to the demands of the real-time enterprise.
"The WebBlazer Web Threat Management System offers customers a layered software solution that can lower the total cost of ownership by combining web proxy technology and web security on a hardened platform," said Steve Kelley, director of strategic alliances for Websense, Inc. "Working with Crossbeam Systems to deliver this unified system and platform, we are able to introduce previously untapped capabilities within Websense security software that will enhance Websense's near-term and long-term product roadmap."
"Crossbeam's channel partners and customers were asking for a web security offering that provides the performance and scale required to secure their networks in a solution that can be seamlessly and simply plugged into their network infrastructure," said Joel Silberman, vice president of ISV partnerships and business development of Crossbeam Systems. "WebBlazer satisfies this demand by bringing customers best-of-breed Websense web security and the flexibility and scalability that only the Crossbeam UTM architecture can offer."
"WebBlazer provides channel partners with a powerful solution to meet the ever changing security needs of organizations," said Russell Zientek, CEO of ComputerLinks North America.
