Cymphonix to Release High-Bandwidth Hardware Platform

Cymphonix today announced a new hardware platform for its award-winning Network Composer, a smart gateway appliance that solves the problems created when users, applications and threats fight for limited network resources. The Network Composer DC40X is based on the Dual-Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor LV 2.0GHz and more than doubles current HTTP throughput to 45 Mbps to handle high-bandwidth locations.

"Any organization, regardless of size, needs the ability to ensure their bandwidth is properly utilized for mission-critical traffic and is not affected by unwanted and malicious traffic," said Cymphonix CEO Kevin Santiago. "With the DC40X Cymphonix has expanded the reach of Network Composer beyond the small business market and now meets the higher bandwidth requirements of mid-size businesses."

The Network Composer DC40X ships with licenses for 100 users, and organizations have the option to add users in several increments from 100 additional users up to 5,000. With the ability to handle Internet connections up to 45 Mbps, the DC40X can handle the traffic for larger network deployments and heavy usage organizations, such as educational institutions.

The higher throughput combined with the policy management capabilities and application management by groups now available in Version 7 of the firmware (See today’s announcement of Network Composer Version 7) delivers a solution to the market that can manage high-bandwidth connections at a price point much lower than comparable solutions.
