Spanish Bamboo Telecom Selects PacketLogic to Manage Wireless Voice (VoIP) and Internet Services

Procera(R) Networks, Inc. (OTCBB: PRNW), a pioneering developer of intelligent network traffic and service management infrastructure equipment, announced that Bamboo Telecom, a Spanish IP Telephony and Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP), has selected Procera Networks' PacketLogic(TM) 7600s system to apply quality and fairness to their IP network. The IP traffic identification and Deep Flow Inspection (DFI) of PacketLogic provide the flow-based control, intelligence and flexibility that is required by a high-end broadband service provider like Bamboo Telecom.
Bamboo Telecom offers Internet and telephony services in Spanish rural communities, and has growth ambitions in additional Western European countries. The carrier-grade wireless infrastructure is provided by SkyPilot, a familiar PacketLogic affiliate in WISP installations.
"We evaluated a number of options to apply traffic control," said Alain Duzant, CEO at Bamboo Telecom. "PacketLogic provided exceptional granularity and accuracy -- something that we need in order to apply quality to our voice and Internet services. Further it offers the flexibility that a shared media, like wireless, requires to deploy dynamic rules even to established connections."
"This is further proof that we through our acquisition of Netintact have a strong established position among service providers and telcos in Europe," said Gary J. Johnson, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Procera Networks. "Wireless Internet has become an important sub-segment of Internet Service Providers, where we rapidly have established a leading position thanks to our superior product PacketLogic."
Bamboo Telecom is deploying PacketLogic 7600s modules for Surveillance and Traffic Shaping.
