WorldSync's SyncDeK Helps Canon Europa Synchronize Journalist Equipment Data During World Cup; Patented SyncDeK Technology Powered Asynchronous Data Replication for Custom FileMaker Solution Between All World Cup Game Locations

WorldSync, Inc., leading provider of tools for synchronization between FileMaker(R) Pro databases, today revealed its patented SyncDeK technology was instrumental in providing asynchronous data replication for a custom FileMaker-based solution developed by ignotum inc. for Canon Professional Services (CPS), Canon Europa N.V. to organize equipment loans for professional photographers on the ground at all World Cup game locations.
"We're pleased that SyncDeK was chosen to provide the critical component required to turn a locally-based FileMaker solution into the robust, multi-location unified system for such a large scale effort," explained Jason Erickson, founder and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. "With SyncDeK, consultants and developers can create modern solutions for today's mobile working communities. In this case Canon Europa's development consultancy, ignotum inc., did a great job of implementing SyncDeK on relatively short notice for the most popular sporting event in television history."
"Canon Europa has an impressive photojournalist support organization in CPS, providing on-site equipment repair and equipment loans," explained Mark Woytovich, president ignotum inc. "SyncDeK and WorldSync provided a critical element of the World Cup solution. Their customer support in getting the solution up and running was exceptional. They did what was necessary to get it done. We will continue to use SyncDeK as needed in future CPS events. In fact, we plan on using SyncDeK for our other clients every chance we get -- it's impressive technology."
The goal of ignotum inc.'s FileMaker solution comprises organization, storage and processing of the data involved with on-site repairs and equipment loans for some of the world's best professional sports photographers, under intense time-pressure for the most watched sports series in the world. Teams of CPS representatives collected field data to their own local copy of the FileMaker system on-site at soccer match venues. Data was entered any time equipment was serviced, repaired or loaned to over a thousand professional photographers who were assigned to cover the World Cup games at 12 game locations spread across Germany. The data entered was synchronized between these teams and a SyncDeK server at ignotum inc. headquarters in New York when an Internet connection became available, by using SyncDeK for the bi-directional asynchronous data replication technology. The project spanned 32 days, covering all 64 matches of the World Cup.
SyncDeK provides technology to deliver solutions that distribute data to mobile workers, remote users, multiple sites, and customers and prospects all over the globe. SyncDeK's bi-directional asynchronous data replication employs a patented technique for database management and synchronization implemented across a peer-to-peer computer network. SyncDeK revolutionizes data synchronization and replication with cost-effective, powerful technology that is elegantly simple for users, and easier than ever to set up and administer.
How SyncDeK Works
Within a sharing community, database record changes are synchronized by storing change information in a synchronization object, which is transmitted over the internet to a routing agent, which in turn transmits the synchronization object to the other remote computers in the sharing community, and the synchronization object updates the database. Synchronization can happen automatically online or by storing changes offline and synchronizing on demand, when back online.
The latest SyncDeK 6 is streamlined for easier installation and configuration, offering JDBC support, direct synchronization for FileMaker Server Advanced, enhanced Version Update Manager (VUM) supporting automatic version updates, and much more. SyncDeK 6 introduced an option for developers to provide centralized synchronization in SyncDeK-enabled solutions using the new SyncDeK Server.
