Hastings Entertainment Donates $83,922 to Local Literacies

AMARILLO, Texas, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hastings Entertainment, Inc. , a leading multimedia entertainment retailer, today reported collecting $83,922 in donations between September 1, 2005 and August 31, 2006 from all retail stores. Donations were collected at each register or through the HardBack Cafe. Each store donated its collection to its local Literacy Council.
Hastings maintains an active involvement in the fight against illiteracy. Illiteracy robs the members of our community of the ability to achieve their full potential as individuals. Hastings believes that by fostering local efforts to combat illiteracy through both collecting donations and making direct contributions, the Company and its associates can help make a difference in every community that we serve.
