Silicon Image Transmitter Powers Universal Abit Motherboard for High Definition Video Capabilities

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Silicon Image, Inc. , a leader in the secure distribution, presentation and storage of high-definition content, today announced that Universal abit Co. Ltd. has selected Silicon Image's VastLane(TM) SiI 1390 High-Definition Multimedia Interface(TM) (HDMI(TM)) transmitter for its new IL-90MV motherboard supporting home networking and Intel(R) Viiv(TM) technology. HDMI enables customers to seamlessly connect PCs to HDTVs and other consumer electronics devices in order to view premium high-definition (HD) digital content.
Silicon Image's SiI 1390 transmitter is a full bandwidth HDMI encoder designed specifically for the PC platform. Designed for Intel CPU-based chipsets, the SiI 1390 transmitter accepts Intel's Serial Digital Video Output (SDVO) input and offers an HDMI output capable of supporting video resolutions up to UXGA and 1080p with up to eight channels of 192 kHz audio. It supports motherboard-down applications for desktop and notebook PCs, as well as ADD2 card applications.
Universal abit's iL-90MV motherboard will be used in low profile Viiv systems and supports HDMI using the Intel 945GT chipset. It includes an angular fan on the board to help with airflow for vital cooling. The motherboard supports Universal abit iDome amplified speakers to create a full digital audio universe, and it also supports general analog speakers for existing systems.
