NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 2003--
Arcavista Communicator Helps Avaya Increase Efficiency and
Lower Cost of Shareholder Communications
Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, has found an efficient, cost-effective method to deliver information -- such as annual reports, earnings reports, company and products news -- directly to the desktops of shareholders using a robust, electronic tool powered by Arcavista Corporation.
In an effort to deliver interactive, updateable and transactional information quickly and easily, Avaya is making Arcavista Communicator software available to shareholders who have indicated a desire to receive electronic communications from the company by signing up for e-delivery of investor information at the company's Web site. Arcavista Communicator allows investor communications to bypass some of the cost, clutter and noise of electronic and traditional mail, while turning first time investor interaction into a long-term relationship.
"This is an ideal platform for us to nurture long-term relationships with our investors while simultaneously helping to drive costs down," said Derrick Vializ, Vice President, Investor Relations, Avaya.
Shareholders can obtain the software as a download from Avaya's Web site after they sign up for e-delivery of shareholder communications. Once e-delivery is selected, the software program can be installed and an Avaya branded icon will appear on the investor's desktop. Arcavista Communicator software automatically determines if new investor information is available, downloads the content and notifies the investor, using an Avaya-branded alert. Content can range from simple text to broadcast-quality videos.
"Our user-friendly software allows for a continual and targeted flow of information and feedback between Avaya and its shareholders who have opted for e-delivery," said Andrew Reiser, chief executive officer, Arcavista. "In addition to providing investor relations support, Arcavista Communicator can also be expanded and used for marketing, loyalty applications, customer acquisition, e-commerce and customer relationship management."
