Posted on: Tuesday, 26 September 2006, 15:01 CDT
Arxan Technologies Inc. announced on Tuesday (Sept. 26) Kevin Morgan has
joined the company as vice president of engineering, effective
immediately.
Arxan Technologies Inc. ("Arxan")
provides fortified products and services to protect software and
hardware in untrusted environments, making products secure when
distributing files or installing software across a network. Arxan's
EnforcIT® platform enables developers to
quickly implement customized protection for their native and embedded
software. Protection is automatically inserted into a compiled binary
and is easy to update and individualize. Arxan's
APG™ solution provides efficient protection
for desktop software against common threats using a simple, intuitive
interface.
"There is strong customer pain around piracy
and reverse engineering of products rich in intellectual property, and
Arxan is ideally positioned to provide best-of-breed solutions to these
problems," said Mike Dager, Arxan's
chief executive officer. "Kevin's
leadership, backed by his outstanding experience and depth in software
system development, will be critical in developing the next generation
of our anti-tamper and anti-piracy products."
Morgan has 26 years of experience in the commercial system software
business. He holds a master's degree in computer science from the
University of California at Berkeley and began his career at Hewlett
Packard developing kernel-level software in the RTE operating system. He
rose to laboratory manager for the HP-UX kernel and oversaw all HP-UX
product development.
In 1999 Morgan joined MontaVista Software as the vice president of
engineering and the sixth permanent employee. There, he led the
engineering and product strategy for nearly seven years, growing the
company to the world's dominant embedded
Linux products provider and one of the largest embedded operating
systems businesses overall.
"Arxan is the world's
leader in anti-tamper and software IP protection technologies,"
Morgan said. "We are extraordinarily
positioned to advance this technology into broad commercial markets, as
well as extend its strong position in the defense market. I am very
excited about Arxan's core technology and the
exceptional intellectual talent in the company. I look forward to
leading the company's technology and product
programs and enabling rapid business growth."
