Joe Massery Promoted to Senior Vice President of Development at Fujitsu Network Communications

Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that Joe Massery, former vice president of hardware and physical design, has been promoted to senior vice president of development. Joe is replacing Mr. Takashi Wakabayashi, who will return to Japan in October to serve as group senior vice president of the Photonics group at Fujitsu Limited. Joe will be located at the company's headquarters in Richardson, Texas.

Joe Massery is senior vice president of development at Fujitsu Network Communications where he oversees the Richardson, Texas and Pearl River, N.Y. development groups. Joe has extensive experience leading the development of data communications and telecommunications systems for both the carrier and enterprise markets. He joined Fujitsu in 1998 and has led the development team as vice president of hardware engineering, physical design, and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) development for the Engineering organization since 2001.
Before joining Fujitsu, Joe was vice president of engineering at several networking companies, including DataPower Technology, Promptus Communications, and Interspeed. In these positions, he was responsible for product definition and architecture, software and hardware development, and system testing. At Bytex Corporation, Joe led the development of the company's data switching products, including one of the industry's first port-switching LAN hubs. Earlier in his career, he held several engineering and management positions at AT&T and Bell Laboratories, where he developed large-scale switching systems, including electronic toll switches, signal transfer point (STP) systems, and enterprise network management systems.
Joe earned his bachelor of science degree and master of science degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
