Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer for Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition
Java technology continues its growth as the leading content platform for mobile data services. The explosion of consumer demand for Java technology enabled devices has presented an exciting opportunity for developers to take advantage of these market changes by extending their skill set.
Faced with increasing popularity, Sun created a collection of new coursework and a new certification, the Sun Certified Mobile Application Developer, focused on the Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)) technology. The new certification was designed for programmers who create mobile applications using Java technologies for cell phones or "smart" devices. Sun's new certification and accompanying training can help bring Java developers up to speed with J2ME technologies. This offering is currently available for purchase.
Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services
Web service also continues to grow in popularity. Enterprises are interested in providing information exchange, and Web services is playing a significant role in achieving that reality. Sun is finalizing a new certification, the Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services, designed for Java programmers interested in developing Web services applications using Java technology. This offering is expected to be available for purchase later this year.
Sun's new training and certification programs offer Java developers an opportunity to upgrade their skills and credibility. Each certification is priced at $150 (US) and offered at Authorized Prometric Testing Centers nationwide. Initially available in English, both certifications are expected to be available in multiple languages later this year.
Sun helps businesses succeed by addressing both the technology aspects of an organization and by accelerating people performance, improving the value of technology investments for a competitive advantage.
