MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Gen-9, Inc. (http://www.gen-9.net/) announced today the Beta release of a new personal information management (PIM) software application called NOAH. NOAH integrates the management of email, Web pages, RSS feeds, contacts, scheduling, application files and other data into a single, customizable, easy to use client interface. The product will initially be available in a limited Beta release, to be followed by a general release by the end of the year.

A recent survey shows that after using organizers and PIMs for over 6 months, 50% of users abandoned them, and only 15% said that the software really helped them become more efficient. NOAH takes a different approach to organizing and managing information that is both Internet centric and very intuitive. The developers expect that the innovative features in NOAH will make it valuable to both the casual user and the power user.
NOAH runs from the user's PC using a local database. Gen-9 will be making the single user version available as a free download. It plans to introduce an enterprise version in 2007. Free downloads will be made available at http://www.gen-9.net/.
"The Internet has transformed the way we work and live in the past ten years," said Gen-9's President and CEO Mark A. Fauci. "The way that we use email and the Web today is almost unrecognizable when compared to the early days. But Web browsers, email software and PIM tools have changed little since then. We felt it was time to take a fresh look at what user's needs are today and rethink how these tools should be designed to meet those needs."
