APCON Launches Multi-Protocol Blade for Its IntellaPatch Physical Layer Switch

Posted on: Tuesday, 29 June 2004, 06:00 CDT

PORTLAND, Ore., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- APCON, Inc., a leading manufacturer of physical layer solutions for networks, announces the introduction of a new multi-protocol blade for its IntellaPatch(TM) physical layer switches. The new blade will allow lab professionals to perform multiple protocol tests on network equipment, expanding automated testing capabilities, reducing capital expenditures and improving new product time-to-market performance.

Enhances Testing Capabilities

The multi-protocol blade seamlessly operates with APCON's line of IntellaPatch physical layer switches, the lab environment's first choice in layer-1 technology, providing non-blocking, any-to-any connectivity for point-to-point, broadcast and loop topologies. The 16-port blade, which supports Fibre Channel, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, SONET (OC-3, 12, 48), HDTV, NTSC/PAL, ESCON and Infiniband, allows lab engineers to run multiple protocol tests on a variety of equipment including, SAN devices, routers and servers. The blade accepts data rates ranging from 100 Mb/s to 3.2 Gb/s.

"Our new blade is an ideal solution for labs that are required to run multiple protocol tests on their equipment," said Richard Rauch, APCON's President and CEO. "Geared to accelerate test and time-to-market cycles, the multi-protocol blade is certain to have a positive impact on bottom line results. Increasing efficiency is our development mantra and we will continue to introduce like products that help increase productivity and overall performance."
