On2 Technologies Announces New Executive Positions in Marketing and Sales

NEW YORK, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On2 Technologies , the leader in video compression software and solutions, announced marketing and sales executive appointments towards continued expansion of its business. Samrat Vasisht has been named vice president of marketing, leading the company's global marketing initiatives across its product lines and market segments. Matthew Byrne has been named senior vice president of mobile sales, responsible for On2's mobile offerings to carriers, handset manufacturers, and mobile content providers.

Samrat has held senior marketing and executive positions at various technology leaders and startups in a marketing management and entrepreneurial career spanning 20 years. Prior to On2, he has worked at Real Networks, Aura Communications, Motorola and Bose, and was the founder and president of Saral Networks. He has developed and launched numerous industry-first products in digital media and Internet, and is the author of two patents. He holds a BSEE from Panjab University, India, and earned an MBA from Babson College, as a Babson Fellow.
Matthew has 16 years of sales management experience in the technology industry spanning Internet and mobile products and services. He was previously at On2 from 2000 to 2003 as EVP of Global Sales and was instrumental in establishing numerous definitive arrangements for On2 with industry leading companies such as Texas Instruments, MCS, and Sony.
