Iwatsu Voice Networks Readies for System Upgrade
Posted on: Wednesday, 11 October 2006, 12:00 CDT
Iwatsu Voice Networks (IVN) has announced the pending release of Version 3.0 software for their Enterprise-CS communications system. The release is scheduled for Q4 2006, and will work in tandem with new Enterprise TOL 7.0 software from Esnatech to enable an advanced suite of unified communications tools.
When deployed with Esnatech's Enterprise TOL 7.0, Iwatsu's 3.0 platform allows the Enterprise-CS system to integrate with voicemail via SIP (Session Initiated Protocol). By using this burgeoning protocol to connect the system with its voicemail server, the need for analog and Dialogic cards has been eliminated. This advancement alone will save end users a significant investment in hardware.
"We're thrilled to release the new upgrade," said Kevin Kelleher, Executive Vice President of Iwatsu Voice Networks. "The Enterprise-CS version 3.0 enables some high-end presence mobility features normally out of the reach of most SMB. By utilizing SIP integration we're able to leverage technology to work for us to lower the cost of the solution."
SIP integration isn't the only feature enabled when Enterprise-CS 3.0 is combined with Enterprise TOL 7.0. Mobile workers will benefit from the ability to manage their schedule through Microsoft Outlook, filter calls (by Caller ID or contact information in a Microsoft Outlook address book) and speech access to corporate directories and contact information. Mobile LINK software enables presence management from a PDA, while the new mobile gateway lets users login from a WAP-compliant device to manage messages and settings or send text messages.
