Industry Veterans Join Achronix Executive Management Team

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Achronix Semiconductor Corporation announced today that five industry veterans have joined the company's executive management staff. The new officers bring decades of experience in the FPGA, Structured ASIC, ASIC and EDA industries to the Achronix management team. In addition, Achronix announces expansion of its operations by establishing its headquarters in San Jose, California, adding to its research and development site in Ithaca, New York.

The five new officers of the company report directly to John Lofton Holt, Chairman and CEO of Achronix, and will join existing officers Dr. Rajit Manohar, CTO, and Dr. Clinton W. Kelly, IV, VP of Advanced Research. The backgrounds of the new officers are as follows:

Howard Brodsky joins Achronix as the Vice President of Business Operations and CFO with more than 25 years of business and financial experience. Most recently he was the Vice President of Finance & CFO at ChipX, Inc., formerly Chip Express Corporation where he was responsible for all financial, IT and business operations. Prior to joining ChipX, Inc. he was Corporate Controller for C-Cube Microsystems Incorporated, where he served as a member of the management team responsible for C-Cube's initial public offering (IPO). He has held various controller and financial management positions at Loral Incorporated, Schlumberger Ltd. and Gould Incorporated.

Paul Indaco joins Achronix as the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and has more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience in electronics and semiconductors including the FPGA, Structured ASIC, ASIC, and Microprocessor industries. Prior to joining Achronix, Mr. Indaco was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Actel, where he managed a team of over 70 sales and field applications engineers. Mr. Indaco also held the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Chip Express and Redwood Microsystems as well as Area Sales Director for LSI Logic Corporation. Mr. Indaco has also held product marketing and engineering positions at Intel Corporation and Texas Instruments.

Yousef Khalilollahi joins Achronix as the Vice President of Marketing. He comes to Achronix with 16 years of experience in the FPGA, Structured ASIC, and ASIC markets. Prior to joining Achronix, Mr. Khalilollahi was a Marketing Director at LSI Logic custom solutions group where he was responsible for Structured ASIC solutions. He also held director level responsibilities in marketing and business development at Actel Corporation where he managed product strategy and introductions, and drove business success for Actel FPGAs.

Gael Paul joins Achronix as Vice President of Software Engineering. Mr. Paul comes to Achronix with over 10 years of experience in EDA software architecture and semiconductor chip design. Prior to joining Achronix, he was an Engineering Director at Synplicity where he was responsible for the FPGA synthesis product lines. Mr. Paul was also Senior Design Consultant at Cadence Design Services, where he designed high performance ASICs and FPGAs for large telecommunication companies throughout Europe.

Ravi Sunkavalli joins Achronix as Vice President of Hardware Engineering with more than 10 years of experience in semiconductor product design and development in the FPGA, Microprocessor, and Memory industries. Prior to joining Achronix, Dr. Sunkavalli was Director of IC Design at Velogix where he was responsible for full chip design and implementation. Dr. Sunkavalli also held various engineering positions at Virage Logic and AMD in both flash memory and microprocessor design groups. In the last few years, Dr. Sunkavalli has led numerous successful 90 nanometer product tape-outs.
