Online Video Greeting Cards for Men

Posted on: Tuesday, 17 October 2006, 09:00 CDT

DENVER, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Inbox, LLC announced today that it has officially launched its new online video greeting card service (http://www.digital-inbox.com/). This service is the first launched that both specifically targets men as its audience and uses non-animated videos for its greeting card content.

"We are excited to be the first online video greeting card company to directly target this demographic," said Jeff Wadsworth, a founder of Digital Inbox. "Our initial product offering is conceived and designed to be consumed by men. The result is a campy, humorous, and risque catalog of video greeting cards that both men and women can send to the favorite men in their life."

Digital Inbox hopes to fill a previously ignored niche in the highly competitive online ecard marketplace by leveraging the huge popularity of Internet video content. The timing couldn't be better with the success of giant YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/) and popularity of greeting card sites Blue Mountain (http://www.bluemountain.com/) and Hallmark (http://www.hallmark.com/). The marriage of these models has already been well- received. Available online for a month prior to the official launch, membership on the site has grown significantly and traffic to the site had caught the fledgling company off-guard. "The response before we began any advertising surprised us. Once people got a hold of this and started sending out greetings it spread and spread and spread," Wadsworth said. Not surprisingly, the majority of initial members have been men but interestingly there is a growing minority of women that are sending greetings out presumably to their significant others.

In its infancy Digital Inbox already has a library of over 40 video greeting cards. Unlike other web video content sites Digital Inbox produces and owns its video content. The site publishes new videos weekly to its membership free of any charges. The videos run from 20 to 30 seconds. They all feature a scantily clad girl saying or doing something corny or silly. One video features a play on the blonde joke "How many blondes does it take to screw in a light bulb?""Who cares?" the performer quips from her ladder wearing a provocative outfit, "As long as you have a good view!" While obviously catering to a male audience, none of the videos depict nudity or are sexually explicit. "Think in terms of PG-13 or MAXIM Magazine - not Rated R or Playboy," said Wadsworth.

Digital-Inbox.com was launched in October of 2006 to provide humorous and titillating content in the form of online video greetings to its members. The site offers a large library of videos for dozens of occasions.
