Instant Media Signs Agreement With Twentieth Century Fox to Offer Feature Films and Television Shows Via the Internet

Posted on: Tuesday, 17 October 2006, 18:00 CDT

Instant Media (I'M), a privately-held technology company offering video programming on the Internet, announced an agreement with powerhouse Hollywood studio Twentieth Century Fox to offer new release movies and popular television shows via broadband. The IM service allows viewers to order and download their favorite movies and TV shows into their personalized I'M player and then watch them at their convenience.

The newly available content includes hit films like X-MEN THE LAST STAND, THE SENTINEL and JUST MY LUCK, as well as popular TV shows such as 24 and PRISON BREAK. "We want to securely distribute our content online and deliver it in a way that is convenient to consumers," said Jamie McCabe, Senior Vice President, Worldwide PPV, VOD & EST, for Twentieth Century Fox. "By partnering with Instant Media, consumers can watch Fox content in a way that suits their evolving digital behavior."

With I'M's video player, viewers are able to create an expanded personalized media portfolio of desired programs that are automatically downloaded and then viewable at the click of a button. The I'M system ensures that viewers will avoid disruptions common in streaming media offerings. "We have three factors that we believe are essential to the online entertainment experience: viewing quality, content availability and ease of use," said Andy Leak, CEO of Instant Media. "Our software already provides the highest standard of viewing available in the simplest way possible. By working with Twentieth Century Fox to offer premium content, we are confident that we are offering the most complete and unique system available to users."

I'M provides its viewers access to more than 550 channels, including popular programs covering the latest in news, sports, entertainment and technology. The programming options include both paid and free content, and the player offers the ability to subscribe to channels for automatic downloads of favorite shows. Once I'M the player is installed, viewers can select their favorite content and then continue working on their PC while shows download in the background.

The I'M viewer is free to download at www.im.com.
