Maden Technologies Uses Brainshark to Rapidly Communicate and Train 15,000 U.S. Army Officials

Brainshark, the leader in on-demand rich-media communications solutions, today announced that Maden Technologies, a leading integrator of outsourced information technology, selected Brainshark to rapidly implement mandatory smart card technology training to the U.S. Army. The training is to be rolled out to 15,000 government officials including security officers and government contractors and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2006.
As part of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive12 (HSPD-12) issued by the White House in 2004, all federal agencies are required to implement a secure, tamper-resistant personal identity verification (PIV) credential (identity card) in order to achieve more uniform standards for issuing trustworthy government identity credentials. This initiative involves all government employees and contractors and governs both physical (facility) and logical (systems) access and represents a significant training need in rolling out the new procedures.
"With only two trainers assigned for all training requirements for this enormous project, we needed to find a cost-effective way to not only deliver training in a very short timeframe to a widely distributed workforce 24x7, but we also needed to be able to update training instantly as soon as information changed -- in our case that's every four weeks," said Nancy Rountree, Learning Services Manager of Maden Technologies. "Brainshark provides us with everything we will need to accomplish our goals quickly, easily, and within deadline and we are planning on using it to fulfill other government projects in the future."
In order to ensure that all 15,000 security officers and government contractors are properly trained by the end of the year, Maden Technologies will be using a blended approach for this training initiative, with plans to reach 80% of all targets using Brainshark's rapid on-demand communication and training solution and the other 20% with a combination of instructor-led training and training via live webinars.
"Wherever there is a need to communicate a consistent message directly from key individuals in a reduced amount of time, Brainshark is the application of choice," said Joe Gustafson, CEO and founder of Brainshark. "We are thrilled that Maden Technologies has chosen Brainshark as its primary way to deliver training as they complete their mission, and we look forward to continuing our relationship in future initiatives."
