Posted on: Wednesday, 18 October 2006, 18:00 CDT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Alabama and Auburn fans now have completely re-designed football pages on al.com. The new look boasts a larger headline photo, highlighted links to multimedia content, blogs and a quick summary of the latest sports updates from The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times and Mobile's Press-Register. These pages can be found at al.com/alabamafootball and al.com/auburnfootball.

In addition to the new design, headlines from other sports sites and blogs have been added to al.com's Alabama and Auburn pages. The headlines provide relevant links for al.com visitors to various sports sites beyond al.com. Fans can find the expanded resources at al.com/alabamafootball/web or al.com/auburnfootball/web.

"The re-design includes enhanced search capabilities and new site navigation." Ken Booth, al.com's Editor-in-Chief, says. "The objective of the new look is to improve the user experience by simplifying the navigation and prominently featuring important content. Adding links to other relevant sites broadens the content available to al.com visitors giving them one stop online for everything an Alabama or Auburn fan might want."

al.com's sports section had over 587,000 unique visitors* in the month of September, a 33% growth over September 2005. These visitors viewed over 30.7 million pages*, a 66% increase over September 2005.
