Local.Com(TM) Market Share Climbs in Latest comScore Report on Internet Yellow Pages Search

Posted on: Thursday, 19 October 2006, 03:00 CDT

Interchange Corporation (NASDAQ: INCX), owners of Local.com, a leading local search engine, today announced that comScore Networks' latest report on the growth of Internet Yellow Pages (IYP) searches has tracked Local.com as the sixth most popular source for this rapidly expanding search category.

According to the comScore survey, 68 million U.S. Internet users performed an IYP search online in July 2006 which represents a 46 percent increase compared to July 2005. In IYP searches, which comScore reports have local intent, Local.com had 5.9 percent share, or just over 4 million IYP searches. This is slightly less than half of Google's 12.5 percent. Yahoo! was the market leader with a 23.9 percent share.

The study, released October 9, focused on IYP searches that return business directory listings and include searches conducted on the local sections of major search sites.

"Local.com continues to gain market share in the fast growing IYP search category," said Heath Clarke, chairman and CEO, Interchange. "We believe the latest comScore numbers demonstrate that our strategy to build Local.com into a leading local search destination is working."

The study was conducted by comScore Networks, Reston, Va., a global leader in measuring the digital age which researches Internet browsing and transaction behavior.
