Mercury Computer Systems Elects New Director

CHELMSFORD, Mass., July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. announced today that its board of directors has elected George W. Chamillard to the board. Mr. Chamillard is chairman of Teradyne, Inc. a leading supplier of automatic test equipment and interconnection systems. With the addition of Mr. Chamillard, Mercury Computer Systems' board now has eight members.

Mr. Chamillard recently stepped down as CEO of Teradyne after a 35-year career, which began in 1969 when he joined Teradyne as an engineer. He was elected vice president in 1981, and president and director in 1996. Mr. Chamillard was elected CEO in May 1997, and has served as chairman of Teradyne since May 2000.

Mr. Chamillard currently is chairman of SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International), director of the Massachusetts High Technology Council, and is a director of the Center for Quality of Management. He has served as a director of both Manufacturing Services Limited and Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates.

Mr. Chamillard is a trustee of Northeastern University, where he received his BS in Industrial Technology and MBA degrees. He is a trustee of Wentworth Institute.
