PrismTech Achieves Outstanding Results for First Half of FY2006--New Contract Wins Set Pace for Record Year

PrismTech, a leading provider of productivity tools and middleware for software developers, announced that it secured more than 160 customer contracts during the first half of FY2006 (April to September), including its two largest-ever orders. The majority of these "wins" represented new contracts in the form of software product licenses, consulting services, and support activity, while the remainder involved renewals and upgrades to existing contracts. Multiple contracts were closed for multi-million dollar amounts.
With new contract wins setting a pace for a record year, the company is well-positioned to exceed its annual performance goals.
"There are a number of industry factors contributing to our success: our core vertical markets in Defense and Telecommunications are economically healthy and have a growing appetite for our advanced software technologies, our R&D investments are producing differentiated, high value-add new products, our customers are increasingly turning to COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) vendors and open Standards in preference to proprietary developments, and we have achieved recognized leadership in our target application domains," said Steve Jennis, senior vice president of corporate development. "PrismTech is today a major player in middleware and tools for Telecom OSS, Defense and Government C4ISR systems and, Military and Commercial SDR (Software-Defined Radio), and we continue to expand our product lines and market reach through both development and acquisition. Unlike many software vendors, we now have achieved the size and status to regularly close multi-million dollar contracts for mission-critical, carrier-class software used in multi-billion dollar projects and product lines. Finally, we pride ourselves on our reputation for consistently excellent customer service and we are constantly seeking ways to further improve our operational performance."
PrismTech's world-class product lines include: OpenFusion® CORBA® and OpenSplice™ DDS middleware suites, Spectra™ SDR productivity tools and middleware, and Xtradyne™ security gateways. The company also offers a variety of associated consulting and support services. PrismTech's large customer base includes numerous well-known Fortune 500 companies primarily in commercial telecommunications, defense / military, aerospace, and government, including: Alcatel, Ericsson, Siemens, CISCO, Samsung, LG, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, EADS, and Thales.
PrismTech's contract highlights (approved for public release) for the first half of the fiscal year included:
a strategic alliance with Thales Group for mission systems software infrastructure, middleware tools and related services;
the licensing of Spectra software-defined radio development tools to Indra Sistemas, Spain's leading IT and defense systems company;
the licensing of OpenFusion embedded middleware to Anritsu Instruments Company; and,
providing CORBA consultancy support for the development and support of CARDAMOM--a framework deployed in several large-scale systems such as Co-Flight, the next Air Traffic Control Flight Plan system for France, Italy and Switzerland.
The company's product announcement highlights included:
OpenFusion new embedded middleware for GPP, DSP and FPGA processors;
OpenFusion RTOrb Java™ Edition product. The most advanced Java™ middleware for real-time CORBA systems;
OpenSplice, second-generation Data Distribution Service (DDS) publish/subscribe middleware and productivity tools for real-time mission-critical systems;
Spectra PE, the most advanced modeling and code generation tool for SDR application and platform development;
Spectra OE, a second-generation, highly-optimized operating environment for SDR (with a total footprint of barely 1.5Mb versus 10Mb+ for first generations implementations); and,
U.S. government approval for export 'without a license' of its entire Spectra SDR product suite.
Other significant news for PrismTech included:
welcoming former JTRS program director Steven MacLaird to the U.S. board of directors; and,
joining the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC) to help ensure the interoperability of COTS 'building blocks'.
