Networking Site YoungFeds Goes Online
The Council for Excellence in Government in Washington has created a MySpace-style networking Web site for government professionals under-35 called YoungFeds.
The site, which features career advice, blogs, message boards and video clips, went online Monday, The Washington Post reported.
The goal is to get people in the young feds community to provide content or give direction to the content, said David Roberts, one of the project’s organizers.
The nonprofit Council for Excellence in Government is sponsoring the program along with insurer Geico,
Our hope is that individuals and organizations use the site and such activities as a like-minded community to improve government, said Tony Nicely, Geico’s chairman and president.
Organizers said they are not seeking to replace groups like the Young Government Leaders, but instead are hoping to work with them to bring young professionals working in government closer together.
