Spansion Selected As Principal Flash Memory Supplier for Lenovo Handsets

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spansion Inc. , the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today announced that Lenovo Mobile Communications Technology Ltd. has selected Spansion as its principal Flash memory supplier for handsets. A leader in the Chinese wireless handset industry, Lenovo is known for its high-quality and customized mobile phone offerings.

Lenovo plans to leverage Spansion's proprietary MirrorBit(R) Flash memory technology to bring innovative phones to the Chinese market, enabling advanced features, such as CD-quality audio and up to 4-megapixel photos on wireless handsets. A long-time Spansion customer, Lenovo Mobile currently utilizes Spansion MirrorBit NOR Flash memory solutions in over 10 different Lenovo handsets.
