Spider Network Systems Changes Name to SpiderNet(TM) Systems

SOMERSET, N.J., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Spider Network Systems, an industry leader in next generation, Data Aware, SONET, Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) that supports GFP/VCAT/LCAS and GMPLS, announced today it will change its name to SpiderNet(TM) Systems.
"We know that we have a product unlike any other in the SAN marketplace," said SpiderNet(TM) Systems Executive Officer, Craig Tate. "We didn't feel however, that our name was as unique as our product. After an extensive research and selection process, we feel the new name accurately represents the corporation and our Black Widow family of products."
The SAN marketplace has rapidly evolved over the past several years with providers offering network area storage solutions to businesses. Because of the vast amounts of data that move across these networks, high-bandwidth WAN connectivity is a necessity. Many SAN providers rely on SONET based networks to meet this need, but inherent with SONET is the issue of wasted bandwidth utilization. Spider Network's Black Widow technology solves this problem by enabling Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) over SONET channels. This allows a huge leap in the utilization of bandwidth and makes possible the offering of advanced data services over existing SONET connections.
The BW1000SX is the first, and only, device that enables SAN service providers to deliver their services in a more efficient and cost effective manner. Leveraging SpiderNet(TM) Systems patent-pending advances in transforming existing SONET infrastructures into fully automated, data aware connections the 1000SX will allow SAN providers to offer such advanced capabilities as on demand (time-of-day) scheduling and shared aggregate bandwidth usage.
