Posted on: Tuesday, 31 October 2006, 09:00 CST
Topio, Inc. (www.topio.com), the leading provider of software for enterprise-class data replication, recovery and continuous data sharing, today announced that its Topio Data Protection Suite(TM) 3.0 (TDPS) has been officially certified by Cisco(R) for its MDS 9000 Storage Services Module and is the only solution to offer support for large-scale implementations, load balancing and enterprise-consistent recovery.
The requirement for dependable data recovery has created a demand for backup systems that can truly protect valuable business information while providing immediate access to the copy in event of a system failure. The integration of TDPS 3.0 with Cisco's MDS 9000 provides a high performance data supply from multiple replicating nodes in the storage area network (SAN).
"With today's business imperative that data is immediately available and retrievable, disaster recovery and business continuance plans are a necessity," said Bud Broomhead, senior vice president of business development, Topio, Inc. "Enterprises cannot tolerate downtime or lost information. Now, with TDPS 3.0 and Cisco's MDS 9000, we can offer the most flexible and scalable solution that is always providing access to SAN and legacy data, at a price point that is helping drive down the entire industry's cost of business continuance."
Cisco's MDS 9000 Storage Services Module provides an open, standards-based platform with the necessary hardware-assist required to help enable high-performance Intelligent Fabric Applications -- such as network-based volume management, remote replication, and continuous data protection -- from third-party storage software vendors. TDPS 3.0 integrates with the MDS 9000 and provides a high performance, out-of-band SAN resident replication platform. With TDPS, the combination continuously copies and protects data over any distance with no impact on applications servers.
About TDPS
With support for heterogeneous servers, storage and multiple storage architectures (DAS, SAN, iSAN), the Topio Data Protection Suite (TDPS) is a single solution that enables continuous replication over any distance without disruption to production applications, and delivers real-time data currency for optimized recovery. A Fabric or server resident software-based solution with an aggressively competitive total cost of ownership, TDPS is a flexible solution that leverages and preserves existing investment while not limiting future IT infrastructure decisions.
