Xirrus XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array Verified to Support More Than 1,000 Users in Tolly Group Test

Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high capacity, long range Wi-Fi products that can effectively extend wired network capabilities to wireless -- without compromise, announced today that the Xirrus XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array can support more than 1,000 users, far more than the leading traditional access point in tests conducted by The Tolly Group.
"Xirrus strives to help customers manage IT costs and increase productivity through its award-winning Wi-Fi solutions - the results of The Tolly Group have attested to these capabilities," said Dirk Gates, CEO of Xirrus. "Test results have shown that a single Array is capable of supporting up to an unprecedented 1,024 users, helping customers with sizable campus environments save money on equipment while maximizing performance."
Recent Tolly Group test results verified that the Xirrus XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array is able to support more than 1,000 users and maintain each user associated while sending/receiving ICMP traffic from a traffic generator. This positions the device well in terms of deployment, performance and management by delivering the lowest cost per user supported.
As the only device that can provide advanced user load balancing between Integrated Access Points in each Wi-Fi Array, Xirrus delivers the most efficient and unique solution capable of supporting a high number of users -- ideal for dense locations like lecture halls, conference centers, hotels and airport terminals.
"Given the costs associated with procuring and installing wireless access points, Xirrus has provided a cost-effective powerhouse solution that can scale to an institution's needs," said Kevin Tolly, president, CEO and founder of The Tolly Group. "The latest results from our testing demonstrates Xirrus' innovative technology and high caliber performance to meet enterprise needs."
The highlights of the tests prove that Xirrus' Wi-Fi Array:
Supports up to 1,024 simultaneous wireless users
Provides 2.5 times the range of the leading enterprise access point tested
Delivers, on average, three times the throughput at 100 feet
Provides more than 13 times the TCP throughput by virtue of the Array's multiple radios
Dramatically reduces access points and cabling requirements
Engineers deployed and configured a single Xirrus XS-3900 Wi-Fi Array to evaluate the maximum number of simultaneous users supported and maintained alive by the device. The device was also tested for both transmission rate and signal range.
