Juniper Networks Intrusion Prevention Solution Selected As ''Reviewer's Choice'' By Government Computer News

Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR) today announced the company's intrusion prevention solution (IPS) earned Government Computer News' (GCN) "Reviewer's Choice" award. After rigorous testing of IPS products from leading vendors, Juniper Networks' Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) 200 secured an 'A' mark, receiving honors for performance, configurability and price. GCN Labs lauded the Juniper IDP 200 solution, saying that for large organizations with multiple subnetworks to protect, the IDP 200 is a strong solution.
"Organizations around the world are growing more and more aware of the severity that attacks can have on their networks, as these attacks are rapidly increasing in frequency and sophistication. Today, intrusion prevention is a security requirement for organizations of all sizes," said Stephen Philip, senior director of product marketing at Juniper Networks. "This validation from GCN further proves that our security solutions are among the best in the industry for protecting customers against an ever-changing threat landscape."
Juniper's family of IDP products provides zero-day protection against worms, trojans, spyware, keyloggers and other malware, helping to prevent these attacks from penetrating corporate network and spreading throughout an organization. The IDP 200 identifies and stops network and application-level attacks before they inflict damage, minimizing the time and costs associated with intrusions. In addition to protecting networks against attacks, Juniper's IDP products provide information about rogue servers, as well as types and versions of applications and operating systems that may have unknowingly been added to the network. Combined with a granular level of control, administrators can not only control access to specific applications, but can also ensure business critical applications receive a predictable quality of service.
The Juniper Networks purpose-built IDP product line includes the IDP 50, IDP 200, IDP 600 C/F and the IDP 1100 C/F. Packaged in 1U or 2U rack-mountable form factors, all of the products contain the full IDP features and capabilities along with flexible high availability options.
