LINDON, Utah, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Solera Networks, Inc., the technology leader in network monitoring and management products, announces the immediate availability of higher storage capacities of 12 TB (terabytes) for the DS Packet Recorder appliances and the DS Archive device. Multiple DS Archive devices can be added for a total storage capacity of 240 TB. This capability, unmatched in the industry, allows customers to collect and archive all network communications for weeks or months on a single device (depending on network traffic volume).
"The price/performance advantage of Solera's solutions over those of our competitors is accelerating," said Terry Haas, President and CEO of Solera Networks. "Given the increasingly ominous security threatscape, as well as the growing regulatory burden impacting IT departments everywhere, we believe that full network packet capture and archiving must become a standard component of every data center's infrastructure. We are committed to making these solutions practical and affordable to customers of all sizes."
Based on proprietary system software and the DS infinite storage file system, Solera Networks DS appliances achieve over 2X the sustainable capture and stream to disk rates of competitive products and can directly address disk storage in excess of 240 TB.
The DS series appliances capture LAN and WAN traffic of all types including T1, E1, digital, T3, DS3, E3, VoIP, HSSI, and all other packetized transport protocols. Up to 10 capture or regeneration ports can be configured on each device with 10/100, GigE, 10GbE, or Fiber Channel adapters.
