Nujira Ltd, the leading developer of advanced high efficiency power amplifier technology for the wireless industry, has expanded its management team and global operations with the appointment of David Embree as vice president and general manager, Americas. Mr. Embree brings significant industry knowledge and international business development experience to support Nujira's growing business in the American market.
"David has exactly the skills and experience we need to develop and grow our business in the Americas," said Tim Haynes, CEO of Nujira. "Nujira's technology is well positioned to make a significant contribution to the economics of current 3G and next-generation mobile systems, particularly as significant investments in these technologies are being made by US infrastructure manufacturers and carriers. David's strong understanding of wireless technologies and knowledge of the key players in the US wireless industry will accelerate the establishment of Nujira as a global leader in this technology and marketplace."
"Nujira's innovative high accuracy tracking (HAT™) technology addresses an urgent need in the mobile industry," said David Embree, VP and General Manager, Americas, Nujira. "WCDMA, CDMA2000, DVB and WiMAX systems all rely heavily on linear power amplifiers to deliver high bandwidth applications to the consumer. But, these next generation services come at the cost of low power amplifier efficiency - and hence significant power consumption. Nujira's technology can make a dramatic difference, increasing efficiency from today's norms towards 50% and more -- allowing smaller, lighter and more cost effective base stations to be designed and brought to wireless carriers worldwide. It is a very exciting time to be joining Nujira as more and more OEMs are coming on board to evaluate and select Nujira's technology for their next generation of transmitters and base stations. Nujira is clearly a company with a great future ahead of it."
Mr. Embree has over 25 years of international senior management, marketing, technology and business development experience in the telecommunications industry. He previously held positions with Lucent Technologies including vice president, Wireless Business Management, where he was responsible for developing and managing the execution of all bids, proposals and contracts for their multi-billion dollar global CDMA wireless business. Prior to that, Mr. Embree was Director, Forward Looking Technology at AT&T Bell Laboratories, developing a broad range of wireless technologies. Mr. Embree holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.
