David Duchovny is eyeing his first regular TV role since The X-Files went off the air, with a new dramatic series on the U.S. cable network, Showtime.
The 46-year-old actor is reportedly in talks to serve as both the lead and executive producer on a new unnamed pilot, which could become Duchovny's first major TV role since 2000, said Daily Variety.
The drama is said to focus on a single father trying to raise his child while battling an addiction to both drugs and sex.
The actor, who played FBI agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, is also set to rejoin forces with director Bart Freundlich for the new Showtime comedy series, Yoga Man.
Duchovny will write the pilot for the comedy along with Freundlich, who had previously directed the actor in the film Trust the Man.
Daily Variety said Duchovny recently finished work on the film Things We Lost in the Fire, in which he shared screen time with Benicio Del Toro and Halle Berry.
