DALLAS, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, Samsung Telecommunications America (STA), the U.S. telecommunication subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., is launching six new feature-rich CDMA and GSM phones across major U.S. wireless carriers, significantly contributing to the company's continued growth in global market share. Shipping a record 22.7 million handsets globally in the second quarter, Samsung has increased its total shipments by 12% from Q1 2004, with the North American market representing almost 40% of Samsung's overseas sales.
STA's unrivaled product portfolio allows its carrier customers to meet their objectives of providing differentiated products and services to specific high-value and high-reward customer segments, driving Samsung's position as a revenue leader.
Pioneering the market-driven strategy of tailoring products to carriers' needs, STA has earned a reputation as a manufacturer of high-end products with superior functionality that address the lifestyle needs of consumers and enterprise users. The company's summer line-up will highlight STA's expertise in multimedia and business technology with product features that include a mega pixel digital camera, streaming video, camcorder recording capabilities and enhanced messaging, as well as a global phone and Mobile Intelligent Terminal by Samsung (MITs).
"The mobile terminal becomes an appliance that must meet the multiple disparate demands of consumer and enterprise end-users with easy-to-use, value-added functionality," said John Jackson, senior analyst for The Yankee Group.
