Network Equipment Technologies to Feature Next Generation High-Speed Switching Platform at SuperComputing'06

Posted on: Monday, 13 November 2006, 15:00 CST

Telecommunications equipment maker Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: NWK), a global provider of multi-service network exchange solutions for government and enterprise customers, announced today that it will showcase its NX5010 platform, a next generation, high speed multi-service aggregation and switching platform, in Booth #308 during SuperComputing'06 in Tampa, Florida on November 14-16.

The NX5010, expected to be available this quarter, is a powerful solution for mission-critical communications that addresses the increasing demand for secure, high speed, versatile networking. Initially targeted at government and financial customers, the NX5010 enables geographically dispersed data centers to connect and enables multiple components currently required to perform SAN-to-WAN communications to be replaced and collapsed into a single system. Jointly developed by NET and Bay Microsystems, the leader in high performance packet processing solutions, the NX5010 is compact and scalable, with the ability to convert 10 gigabits per second to a wide area connection on a very small a foot print (2RU).
