Akon Album Release Party Debuts Exclusively on Sprint Power View
Posted on: Tuesday, 14 November 2006, 15:00 CST
Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced that its made-for-mobile sports and entertainment programming network, Sprint Power View, is now offering exclusive footage from SRC/Universal recording artist, producer and songwriter Akon's "Konvicted" album release party. This marks the first concert hosted and produced by the Sprint Power View team and is another example of how Sprint is powering unique content for subscribers through exclusive music and entertainment sponsorships.
"The versatility of Sprint Power View's production staff is truly on display with the launch of Akon's release party on Sprint handsets," said Alana Muller, director of entertainment marketing for Sprint. "This offering demonstrates our capability to provide Sprint subscribers with new and innovative ways to enjoy their favorite music artists, and the power of our network allows them to do it in more places than ever before."
The Sprint Power View production team gathered the footage during the Nov. 9 event. Its availability directly coincides with today's album release to the public, and Sprint is offering the album's songs in Ringers, Call Tones and over-the-air downloads from the Sprint Music Store. Sprint customers can text AKON to 5678 for a link to all of Akon's content on Sprint, such as the second single from the new album, "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dogg, which was available exclusively from Sprint two weeks before the album was released.*
