Intel ships new chips for mini-notebooks

LOS ANGELES, July 20 (Xinhua) — Intel Corp. introduced on Tuesday four new mobile processors for mini-notebooks and tablet PCs weighing around 3 pounds.

The new chips include Pentium M 738, 733 and 723 and Celeron M 353, running at speeds from 1.4 GHz to 900 MHz. The low voltage and ultra low voltage chips are all produced using 90-nanometer process technology.

Intel said the new Pentium M chips feature a 2MB Level 2 cache and a power-optimized 400 MHz system bus, while the new Celeron M processor offers users a balanced level of mobile processor technology and value for small mobile PCs.

Intel priced the new chips at from 284 dollars to 161 dollars in 1,000 unit quantities.
