John Williamson Joins Optical Cable Corporation's Board of Directors

ROANOKE, Va., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Optical Cable Corporation today announced that John B. Williamson, III has been appointed to Optical Cable Corporation's Board of Directors. The appointment of Mr. Williamson brings the number of members of the Board to six. Mr. Williamson will also serve as a member of Optical Cable's Audit Committee.

Mr. Williamson, age 49, is President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of RGC Resources, Inc. located in Roanoke, Virginia. RGC provides natural gas sales and services in western Virginia.

Mr. Williamson joined the predecessor to RGC Resources in 1992 and has served in a number of leadership capacities with that company, including Vice President of Rates and Finance, before becoming Chief Executive Officer and President in 1999, and later being named Chairman. Mr. Williamson also serves on the Board of Directors of NTELOS, Inc., a regional cell phone service provider, and Botetourt Bankshares, Inc., as well as on the Community Board of Directors of the Lewis-Gale Medical Center. Mr. Williamson is also active in the Roanoke Valley community serving and having served on numerous civic Boards and Foundations during the past 10 years.
