TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 700,000 truckloads of debris were moved in the State of Mississippi during the United States Army Corps of Engineers' Hurricane Katrina cleanup efforts. The lead contractor for the job, Ashbritt Inc. of Pompano Beach, FL, was faced with the task of keeping track of hundreds of subcontractors with thousands of trucks spread over the state in sixteen different counties. A consultant on the project, Scott Stuart, was quoted as saying, "Off-the-shelf software just wouldn't have worked in this situation." For the solution to their problem Ashbritt joined the growing trend of using web-based software that runs on any computer over the Internet.
Ashbritt turned to Tampa, FL based Asevotech to provide a custom software solution. Asevotech Consultant, Wes Holden, developed an Internet portal and several web-based applications that allowed Ashbritt field personnel to access and manage vital information about the project from anywhere an Internet connection was available using hardware the contractor already had. "The true beauty of the software is that our people with laptops in Mississippi can utilize the computing power of a server in Tampa. This allowed us to run complex reports necessary to manage the 30,000 private property cleanup jobs happening across the state and to process over $13,000,000.00 a week in subcontractor payments," said Project Operations Manager for Ashbritt, Rob Ray.
Asevotech was founded to provide businesses with technology-based solutions for growth. They offer a variety of products and services including custom software development, technology and management consulting, and web hosting.
