Posted on: Monday, 27 November 2006, 09:00 CST

Break.com, the premier online entertainment channel for men driven by comedic, user-created, short-form video content, today announced it has increased the amount it pays individual users for their content. Original user created videos posted on Break.com will now earn a minimum of $400 per video with original animation earning a minimum of $2,000. This new pay structure sets a new standard in paying for and delivering the best entertainment on the Web.

"Break.com was the first site to pay for original content and has paid out over $300,000 already to creators. We are happy to increase our base compensation structure once again and to demonstrate our commitment to providing incentives for people to create and share great entertainment," said Keith Richman, CEO of Break.com. "This year definitely marked a cultural shift in consumers' adoption and consumption of mass media content and advertisers' willingness and desire to be associated with new forms of content. As these attitudes have shifted, so has our ability to give back to the creators themselves."

Break.com's content filtering system allows it to deliver the best ON Demand programming on the Web. Break works in collaboration with its community to isolate the best videos posted to its site daily so uses are ensured a great experience every time they visit the site.

Recent Hitwise data for the week ending November 18, 2006, shows Break.com as the number one independent Web site in the Entertainment-Multimedia category. Total traffic for Break.com has steadily increased over the last eighteen months, driven by interest in the site's irreverent, original and exclusive video content.
