The awards, which recognize "Silicon Valley's hottest up-and-coming companies" were presented on November 14th at an awards ceremony at the Palo Alto (California) Crowne Plaza Hotel.
"We are excited to recognize the achievements of these emerging companies in technology-rich Silicon Valley," said Business Journal Publisher Vintage Foster. "The companies we are celebrating have pioneered technologies with the potential to profoundly impact people and their businesses."

Arcwave's ARCXtend HSD is the leading wireless plant extension solution that enables cable operators to leverage their extensive hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) networks and advanced IP service capability to target a large portion of the small-to-medium-sized business voice and high-speed data market that has been previously unreachable due to cost, regulatory or deployment delay considerations. ARCXtend HSD seamlessly integrates into a cable operator's network and operating infrastructure creating a wireless bridge for the transmission of the cable industry's DOCSIS standard signals between the wired network and one or more customer sites at speeds significantly faster than DSL.
ARCXtend HSD has been deployed by 14 of the top 15 cable operators in more than 100 regions of the country. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Arcwave solutions are now providing broadband service to professional offices and small businesses such as a cemetery, an executive search firm, a real estate mortgage brokerage, a dental office, a speech therapist office and others.
