AT&T Names Houston Employee to New Position Focusing on African-American Constituencies in Texas

HOUSTON, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kerrick Henny, a nine-year veteran with AT&T in Houston, has been named to a newly created position of directing the company's stakeholder relations for African-American organizations across Texas.
Henny will serve as point person for AT&T with major African-American constituencies statewide. He will coordinate with other AT&T managers in Texas and Washington, D.C. who are involved with local and regional chambers of commerce, other business groups and key community organizations.
"The African-American community plays a key role in our marketing and public policy programs. AT&T has historically recognized its importance, and we are continuing that tradition by placing Kerrick Henny in this new position," said Jim Epperson, president-AT&T Texas.
Henny joined AT&T in 1997 when the company was operating as SBC. He held assignments serving residential and business customers before moving to a position in External Affairs, which put him in direct contact with various African American organizations.
"AT&T has a long history of supporting diverse organizations," said Henny. "The company is consistently recognized for its commitment to internal and external programs for minorities. My goal is to complement AT&T's ongoing programs by bringing everything together."
He currently serves on the boards of the Julia C. Hester House, United Negro College Fund and Houston Area Urban League. He is also a member of Leadership Houston and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, where he serves on the corporate advisory board for the state of Texas.
