Clear Channel Television Rolls Out AdPay Classifieds Network on 42 Station Websites in 24 Markets

Posted on: Thursday, 30 November 2006, 09:00 CST

Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (NYSE:CCU):

Inergize Digital Media, the interactive web services arm of Clear Channel Television, and AdPay, the leading online classifieds service for local media with over 35% of the nation's newspaper circulation under contract, today announced the roll out of the AdPay Classifieds Network (ACN) to 42 Clear Channel Television websites serving 24 markets nationwide. The agreement makes Clear Channel Television the first stand-alone television group to become a part of the ACN.

"AdPay enables us to monetize content and develop an entirely new revenue stream," said Jason Gould, Regional Vice President of Inergize Digital Media. "By combining locally relevant classifieds with a network of national goods and services, we are perfectly positioned to deliver consumers the most pertinent content. Our sites become e-commerce hubs and transactional gateways that increase traffic and improve time spent browsing, an enticing proposition for would-be advertisers."

Starting with WPTY and WLMT in Memphis, Tennessee this week, Clear Channel Television will roll out the ACN to its nationwide network of television markets over the next month.

"Many online users have an affinity with their local media and look there for resources. Clear Channel's initiative to make its stations' websites local shopping hubs illustrates their market awareness and forward-looking approach," said David Rice, president and CEO of AdPay. "The AdPay Classified Network provides the depth and breadth of content that enables participating sites to compete effectively with online pure play solutions."

The ACN is an aggregation of online classified ads from multiple media sources that enables online classified shoppers to expand their search without leaving their local media's classifieds website. Now online shoppers can search for and purchase merchandise through private-party classifieds from across the country. AdPay partners, like Clear Channel Television, benefit from immediate enriched ad content, increased site traffic driven by searches on other ACN partner sites, and monetized web traffic via contextual advertising. Furthermore, the ACN maximizes partners' market presence through content indexing to other sites.
