Phoenix Technologies Applications Gain Market Momentum and Adoption

New Phoenix Technologies Applications Bundle Allows Users to Enable, Protect and Recover Their PCs

Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:PTEC) today announced that two premier North American PC system builders, Shuttle Computer Group and Elite PC, have agreed to market and distribute the new Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro(TM) Special Edition (SE) recovery and security software applications bundle, which demonstrates early momentum for the rapid adoption of Phoenix Technologies products by system builders and in the enhancement market.

Shuttle Computer Group of City of Industry, California, is shipping its advanced XPC systems direct through Shuttle.com. as well as through major retailers such as Best Buy and Micro Center. Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE is now deployed across the full line of Shuttle XPC systems.

Elite PC, a Tempe, Arizona-based premier system builder that focuses on supplying large volumes of house branded PCs, has begun shipping Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro applications on all desktops and notebooks. Already, Elite PC has expanded the number of outlets where they ship with Phoenix Technologies applications.

The new Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE bundle is the only pre-operating system mode software bundle that offers system builders three after-market revenue-sharing opportunities and gives PC users protection and recovery from viruses and intrusions. When users choose to upgrade to Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE, they add the capability to perform regular, automated backups to incremental restore points. Restore points can be set monthly, weekly, daily or hourly.

Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE provides full software restoration - including the operating system, applications, user settings and all data files, all without a recovery CD. The Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE bundle offers a free 30-day trial version of Phoenix Technologies Recover Pro SE which includes: Phoenix Technologies cME Console, a customizable dashboard for application launch and management; and Phoenix Technologies cME Vault, a protected virtual CD bunker on the hard disc drive. PC users may purchase any of the products after the trials expire.
