Dippin' Dots Franchising, Inc. presented Galbreath with the Founder's Award at the company's annual meeting. The Award is given to the franchisee who embodies the model upon which the Franchise concept was built. The recipient contributes to the franchise system and cultivates positive relationships with customers, mall and event managers and Dippin' Dots employees.

Galbreath began as a Dippin' Dots dealer in March 1994, opening his first store in Greentree Mall in Clarksville, Ind. He now owns and operates Dippin' Dots locations in Jefferson Mall in Louisville, Ky. and Cool Springs Galleria in Franklin, Tenn.

"2006 has been my best year so far and fortunately I have been able to say that each and every year I've been involved with Dippin' Dots," Galbreath said. "Every year continues to get better as the product awareness gets better. There is not another product on the market that generates the level of excitement that Dippin' Dots brings."

In addition to his two stores, Galbreath offers Dippin' Dots at many fairs and festivals. He also provide Dippin' Dots for fundraisers for schools, band boosters and other organizations, and serves on the company's Marketing Advisory Committee.

As for Galbreath's future with Dippin' Dots, "I'm very encouraged by the results of the store front locations that are opening in non-tourist areas. Living in a tourist area here in Nashville, I'm sure the growth potential for us is limitless."

Dippin' Dots are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice. Invented in 1988 by microbiologist and entrepreneur Curt Jones, Dippin' Dots offers more than 20 different flavors, plus seasonal flavors. The company's administrative and production headquarters are located in Paducah, Kentucky. Dippin' Dots are sold at more than 250 retail locations and thousands of entertainment venues and special events nationwide. The company's Global division oversees licensees in nine countries.
