AT&T Data Virtual Private Network Earns Two Telemark Gold Awards and Exceeds Customer Expectations Across the Board

BEDMINSTER, N.J., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T ranks as the "highest performing operator" in the top three priorities of data virtual private network (VPN) customers, according to an annual customer satisfaction survey by the marketing services firm Telemark. AT&T also received two Gold Awards and a host of other honors in the 2006 Telemark Services' Data VPN Voice of the Customer Report.
According to the survey, AT&T outperforms other carriers when it comes to servicing customers in the three categories rated by respondents as being most critical to their business - Network Reliability, Secure Data Transfer, and Network Availability. Additionally, AT&T exceeds customer expectations in all of the report's 32 key service attributes measuring different aspects of their experiences with data VPN services from global service providers.
Telemark surveyed 1,641 enterprise network decision-makers in the U.S. and Canada to determine how they rated their data VPN service provider. Respondents weighed in on questions designed to rate the importance of the services they receive and their satisfaction with those services.
AT&T earned its two Telemark Gold Awards for outstanding customer service in the report's Secure Data Transfer and Network Availability categories. Gold Awards, Telemark's highest accolade, are awarded to companies that show a superior degree of customer satisfaction by exceeding the benchmark standard for "acceptable" service by 20 percent or more in a given category.
In addition, AT&T earned six "Best in Class" rankings including Secure Data Transfer, as well as in categories for Value for Money, Installation on Schedule, Operational Guarantees, Installation Not Disrupting, and Prior Pilot Installation. AT&T also received three "Best Category" accolades for Network Operation, Network Installation, and Global Pricing. A "Best" classification is given to the operator provider who receives the highest score on the survey's Customer Satisfaction Index, indicating the highest degree of customer satisfaction of all the operators studied.
