MPC Computers Awarded a Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) Contract

Posted on: Monday, 9 August 2004, 06:00 CDT

NAMPA, Idaho, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- MPC Computers, a Gores Technology Group company, announced today that it is an awardee on the 2004-2007 Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) contract. WSCA is an association of states that provides state/local governments and educational organizations with cooperative purchasing power for the procurement of computer systems and other products.

The contract is expected to drive over $3B of total purchases for all awardees during its 3-year term and includes computer equipment, software, peripherals and related services. Through the WSCA contract, MPC has the opportunity to provide state, local and education entities with award-winning PC products, including desktops, notebooks, servers, storage products and peripherals. The contract goes into effect September 1, 2004.

"We are extremely pleased and honored to be an awardee on this contract," said Michael S. Adkins, President and CEO of MPC. "MPC's strategy is to provide superior products and customer service to distinct market segments, including state/local government and education organizations. This contract award further validates the value and service we deliver to these customers, and we look forward to meeting their needs through the WSCA contract."

"This contract is also a great strategic fit for our acquisition of the End User division of Omni Tech Corporation, announced late last year and re-named MPC Solutions," Adkins continued. "MPC Solutions is a very focused provider of PC solutions to education and state/local government customers, and we will take advantage of its experience and resources to bring world-class solutions to these customers through WSCA."
