XIMETA Networked Storage Enclosures Available to Systems Integrators and VARs

NDAS Enabled Enclosures Gives Systems Integrators and VARs Customizable Solution to Tackle the Growing Consumer and SOHO Networked Storage Markets

XIMETA Inc. (www.ximeta.com), the creator of Network Direct Attached Storage(TM) (NDAS(TM)) technology, today unveiled a new product designed to serve the needs of systems integrators and value added resellers (VARs), NDAS Enclosure. In response to the fast-growing systems integrator market supporting consumers and small offices/home offices (SOHO) -- projected to experience double-digit revenue growth in 2004 -- XIMETA's NDAS Enclosure enables systems integrators and VARs to easily build their own network storage solution by customizing the capacity and value add software bundled with the network HDD enclosure.

Available through XIMETA's distribution partners, Ingram Micro, D&H, SED International and Bell Micro, NDAS Enclosure allows systems integrators and VARs to adapt cost-effective NDAS enabled networked storage to customized applications -- ranging from video surveillance to personal storage. Available in two- and five-unit volumes priced at $128.00 and $310.00 respectively, NDAS Enclosure is a white label hard drive enclosure that includes XIMETA's patented NDAS PCBA chipset and software drivers.

"XIMETA is responding to our systems integrators' and VAR customer's requests for NDAS based solutions that give them the flexibility to develop customized products for their customers," said Robert Gronski, Executive Vice President, Sales & Business Development, at XIMETA. "With NDAS Enclosure we're able to offer them the ease-of-use and low-cost benefits of NDAS and the ability to create custom network storage solutions that will allow them to tap into a greater pool of business opportunities."

Based on XIMETA's NDAS technology, NDAS Enclosure features Fast Ethernet and USB 2.0 connections that allow users to easily connect external storage to a network (LAN) and directly to their PC or laptop. With NDAS, the storage unit is instantly available to all networked PCs and laptops as a shared drive. The NDAS drive appears as a local drive and data is transferred by simply dragging and dropping files. Unlike personal servers or mini-NAS devices, NDAS does not require the technical expertise to configure IP addresses or a dedicated server. Additionally, because NDAS is not based on TCP/IP protocols, the system is much less susceptible to external security threats -- keeping data safer and less exposed to the outside world.
