Skypine Introduces New Line of Automobile Multimedia Systems Powered By Zoran's Vaddis(R) 8 DVD Multimedia Processors

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Zoran Corporation announced that Skypine has introduced a new line of automobile DVD Systems based on Zoran's Vaddis 8 DVD multimedia processors. These first new models include the Skypine SD-9218, SD-9812, SD-9821NAV, and the SD-9710.

The Skypine SD-9218 product is an in-dashboard Car DVD system with a 7-inch motorized touch-screen panel powered by a Vaddis 8 processor that enables playback of DVD, VCD, DivX, CDDA, MP3, and WMA, as well as easy navigation of system functions while driving.
System features in the SD-9812 model include an AM/FM tuner, TV tuner, SD card reader, and Bluetooth interface for hands-free mobile phone operation, enabling safer driving while using the phone. This model also has an integrated audio power amplifier for driving four speakers. It can be extended by an external GPS navigation box that can be purchased separately.
The SD-9821NAV model includes a built-in GPS navigation system, an SD Memory Card interface, and comes equipped with a 6.5-inch LCD touch screen.
The SD-9710 product adds Apple iPod connectivity and is XM satellite radio ready. Both can be controlled via the 7-inch LCD touch screen. All models are equipped with a switch that enables video playback in the driver's seat only when the car is not in motion.
Vaddis 8 DVD Multimedia processors are fully digital end-to-end solutions for DVD players, including a digital RF, servo, read channel, and multimedia decoder. The Vaddis 8 processor enables playing disks in the following formats: DVD/DVD+R/DVD-R/ DVD+RW/ DVD-RW/VCD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW. Additional features include: JPEG viewing with Kodak PictureCD, playback of Microsoft WMA and compressed audio formats. Vaddis 8 also supports Single Pixel Processing(TM) progressive scan technology, via component video output.
Vaddis 8 is available for consumer and automotive applications. Samples and complete reference design kits are available now to Zoran's strategic customers and partners.
